“In the realm of politics, its really funny how people get trapped in echo chambers, where they hear and follow information that simply reinforces their existing beliefs. This can lead to widespread misinformation and unnecessary polarization, as individuals end-up listening only to leaders who may also be misinformed or biased.
“There is a spiritual aspect to this, too. In 2 Corinthians 10: 12, the apostle Paul said, ‘Oh, don’t worry; we wouldn’t dare say that we are as wonderful as these other men who tell you how important they are! But they are only comparing themselves with each other, using themselves as the standard of measurement. How ignorant!’ Those who criticize those who judge their own worth and accomplishments in life by comparing themselves to others rather than judging themselves by God’s standards, are living out the principle of ‘the blind leading the blind.’
“To have eyes to see we must first be regenerated by the Spirit, we must measure life by the Scriptures. We have to have a healthy lack of confidence in ourselves and others because of our broken human natures that can lead us astray. Christ is our light for navigating these dark days.”
