TAYLORSVILLE — The Christian Action League will head west this weekend for the second session of its three-part annual meeting, gathering in Taylorsville from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at Little River Baptist where the Rev. Jeff Chapman will be host.
The meeting, in the Alexander County seat, is open to all but should be most convenient for Christians in the Western Region, from Ashe and Stokes counties in the north to the tip of Cherokee in the west and Anson in the south.
The session, designed to inform and inspire believers to be salt and light in our culture, will include a word from Rep. Dale Folwell, R-Forsyth, who will address the state’s need for a Marriage Amendment as well as other important legislation that hasn’t been allowed debate.
Speakers will also include the Rev. Mark Creech, executive director of the Christian Action League; Alysse ElHage with the North Carolina Family Policy Council; and Jeff Mixon with Americans for Prosperity.
In addition to those listed above, other counties in the western region are: Alleghany, Avery, Buncombe, Burke, Cabarrus, Caldwell, Catawba, Clay, Cleveland, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Gaston, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Iredell, Jackson, Lincoln, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mecklenburg, Mitchell, Polk, Rowan, Rutherfordton, Stanly, Surry, Swain, Transylvania, Union, Watauga, Wilkes, Yadkin and Yancey.
There is no charge for Saturday’s event which will include a free lunch hosted by Little River Baptist. The church is located at 2070 Little River Church Road in Taylorsville. Pre-registration for the meeting is not required. To find out more, phone the Christian Action League at (919) 787-0606.
