“Christ our Lord suffered. If we suffer for the same reasons he suffered, which all true Christians at some point in their lives do, then it confirms our sonship. I hear a lot of people say they accepted Christ on this date and at this time as proof of their salvation. But I’m more interested in how you’ve suffered for your profession of faith. I’m not saying works save us. I’m saying if God’s work of regeneration has transformed your heart and you’re going to share in Christ’s glory, there will also be evidence you’ve borne a Cross as he did.”
